Shangrila Farm

Hi, we are Harry and Laurie Mollin of Shangrila Farm (48 acres of a lost paradise.) The closest city is Roanoke, VA (a 40-minute drive) and the closest town is Rocky Mount, VA (a 20-minute drive.) After we found our land, we searched for an animal to raise to qualify our land as a farm. We bought our first two llamas in 1987 and now have over forty. They have transformed our lives and we could not imagine a life without them. Our goal is to share this joy with others.

We breed for the gentlest, sweetest, prettiest animals we can. Our babies have heavy, medium or light wool. We try for large, stately animals, but sometimes we end up with cute, little wooly llamas. We have just about every color including appaloosas. In fact, three of our herd sires have sired appaloosa babies.

Through the years we have read every book, seen every tape and attended ever conference we could to ensure we were giving the best care to our llamas and those being boarded with us. Once a month all the llamas on our farm are weighed, de-wormed and given any needed vaccinations.

Over and above maintaining healthy llamas, we focus on training them to be easily haltered, lead, and loaded in a trailer. All our babies are desensitized at birth and extensively worked with. We have even started training them with the Click and Reward method.

We have babies, weanlings, and bred females for sale at reasonable prices and will do everything in our power to make sure you have all the support you need to take care of your new llamas.
